Winter/Summer and love your cat & moving
November 27, 2008
Hi there, ,

What's in This Issue:

Updates to the site
There are a couple new entries for comment and help on the Submit Your Story page. We also have some new requests for help on Bad Cat Behaviors From Readers. If you have any ideas, please add your thoughts.

There was a new Story of a wonderful cat who left us this year. Please submit your tributes, and any photographs you care to add. Your kitty doesn't need to be on the other side of the the Rainbow Bridge to be listed here.

Chirstmas 2008 stuff is updated. I've added the new ornaments, gifts and stockings. I hope you find something you love.

NOTE:

I've had some connection problems, so I was unable to complete last month's issue. Based on that, and some other time issues, I posted to the the blog and didn't send out another issue. I don't want to spam my readers, so I'm very careful. I want you folks to love hearing from me.

Love Your Kitty & Moving

I just read a very moving tribute to a deceased kitty. It made me think about what I feel for my cats.

I was recently faced with the real possibility of having to move before I was ready to do so. It meant that all the kids could not come. Who could I possibly farm out for a year? That was more disturbing than anything else I've faced recently. If they had no hair and walked on 2 legs instead of 4, no one would say I couldn't bring my family with me to a new home. Rental or not.

I've been approved for Habitat for Humanity to build a house, so patience is important. It won't be a big mansion-type house. Just a small place that will be big enough and safe enough to live in. I'm in a small apartment, now, so it's a step up. I don't expect to move for about a year. This is a big part of my time crunch and will only get worse. The cats are aware that something is going on because I'm out a lot more than they are used to. I come home smelling like paint, plaster, dust and who-knows-what.

My friends are all excited and happy for me. I'm excited too! It's a long process, and the "sweat equity" portion - the work I put in on the front end in place of money for a down payment - is what is taking all my time.

Anyway, this apartment is a place I'm looking forward to leaving, and my cats are sticking close right now. A place with enough room for each cat to be in a room and be "alone" is going to be a shock for them. They are tumbling over each other right now. Tiffs and jostling for space to sleep can be vocal at times. Walking through the apartment can be challenging - especially at meal times.

I'll keep you posted as I pass through the stages of the program. Right now, it's classes, budgeting, and putting in time at the Thrift Store.

For the newcomer to this site:
I know I have too many cats for this place, you don't have to tell me. My first 2 cats were intentional. Three girls descended on me 2 summers ago. They were supposed to move on, but ended up staying. After this much time and work to socialize them, they are mine. They won't be going anywhere. I don't know that I could let one go for a home that would be perfect for her, but maybe.... Bugsy does need more than I can give her. :>/
