Turkey and Cats November 04, 2007 |
|||||
Hi there, ,What's in This Issue:A quick list:
Updates to the siteOK, I finally got the download of this HUGE file of items. I fired a major supplier, so I'm still updating all the links. However! I've got the calendars up for 2008. You can get them now, and there are some cute ones! If you are like me, you have cat calendars all over the place. I have three calendars in my place - kitchen, bath & by the computer. They are ALL cats! I have Kliburn, Kittens and Naughty Kitties. I've also included a link for the company where I get my appointment/organizer calendar that I carry everywhere! I don't get anything for that, but it's such a handy organizer - everything in one place - that I wanted to share with you. If you have trouble keeping things straight or getting things done, this will help a lot.If you've been paying attention, there hasn't been a "featured product" for a couple of months. That changes this month. Check out the new one in the next few days. Subscribe to the RSS feed if you haven't already done so, and you will know when pages get updated - including that one. I'm negotiating with a new odor control company. They have a product that they actually guarantee and it has very specific mixing instructions. Yep, you guessed it - you have to mix it up to make it usable. They don't want to make you pay to ship the water. This would be an *exclusive* deal, so keep your fingers crossed! They seem to be really nice folks. I'm going back to the form for submitting cat stories. It just makes more sense for me. While it's nice to be able to upload the photo at the same time, the linking doesn't work right, so I can't make the pages work. Better to keep things real, I guess. I promised a photo contest, didn't I??? Well, we will use the current form for a photo contest & voting. I want photos of cats in the Holiday Spirit. What does that mean exactly??? How about "mixing it up with the tree" or "overindulging on turkey" or some such. Anything having to do with the holidays from November First to January First. That includes New Year's Eve. Entries will be rolling (no hard deadlines - kind of like the "cute kitten combat") and voting will be rolling also. I'll be passing on deals and steals to the winners. Winnings will be equal to or exceed $20 in savings from suppliers and sponsors. You should see some entries by election day - this Tuesday, November 6th. And don't forget to vote (politically and for cats)! First award to be announced November 15th.
Kitty Food - -Well, we all have stories, I guess. My favorites have to do with my kitties eating too much turkey. Actually, Beasley LOVES ham!Turkey puts me to sleep. I love all the yams and sugary snacks and treats, too. However, this year I'm on a "diet" and have to keep my calories under 2000 every day. Actually a bit lower than that! And I love ham, too - except that it's so salty. I wash it off when I cook it at home. What do you do?? Anyway, I came home from the family gathering with my usual goodie bags of left overs and was putting them in the fridge, when Beasley came into the kitchen, enticed by the smells. I offered a smidge of turkey and he continued to try to get into the packets. I gave him a bite of the ham, and he growled & carried it off! My goodness! Did I ever tell you about Samba? He was a little Himalyan kitten I had - he had a run-in with a dog early in his little life and didn't survive. However, in his short stay, he taught me about food cravings. I brought home a chicken - still frozen mind you - and he scrambled into the kitchen & actually TORE INTO the package! I'd never seen anything like it. A few weeks later, he was dead asleep in the kitty condo & I ran a piece of chicken under his nose & he about took my hand off snapping at it! That was a cat who loved chicken! I've had cats who loved eggs, sausage, hamburger and sour cream. I've never had a cat who loved milk, but I'm sure you may have seen one. What about salmon, pike, catfish and - oh my! - the fish in the aquarium! Share your stories with me - you know I love it! Specials and Coupons
