Holiday Kickoff
October 15, 2007
Hi there, ,

What's in This Issue:

There is no article this month. I got dragged away (that's why this issue is so late) and then got sick. So, I've combed my email from suppliers for goodies and pulled a few seasonal items for you. Hope you like them.

New Pages A new submission about Jack from Northern Ireland. A wonderful kitty who recently passed. I'm still not sure about the submission process. I like that the photo can be included, but I can't find the page to link directly to it for you. Page updates and changes continue. As the products are replaced, the pages will be added back to the Cat Marketplace. The links have been removed from the marketplace, but the rest of the information is still there. I decided to diversify and add more suppliers and give you a more varied offering, instead.

The process of feedback becomes very important in this case. Please use the testimonial form and let me know how your shopping experience worked out. Any difficult suppliers will be dropped.

I'm also re-arranging the way you find your way around. Use the site map link at the bottom of the pages if you can't find something you used to know "just where it was." I had "too many buttons" on the left, so I've combined them and consolidated some areas. In this process, I've removed navbar buttons and added links to the bottom of pages. Each page is being visited in it's turn - all 200+! So, all the links will work and all the "related websites" will be reviewed again to make sure they are still high-quality places for information. There are a lot of "google sites" these days - lists of other sites for the sole purpose of making google money. If I find one, I'm dropping it. If a site has nothing original to add, then they need to go away.

Story Submissions have a new form right now. I'd like some stories to come in so that I can evaluate the process. The new form also allows other readers to vote and comment.

Specials are in this section. I get lots of short-duration sales because of YOU! Your trust of the merchants on the website drives sales and they LOVE you so they offer specials to increase sales even more. Let's face it, with today's economic climate, everyone is nervous. If a merchant sees a lot of traffic and sales coming from a certain place, they will do whatever they can to promote more sales from there - or face economic ruin. Review and take advantage of these specials and tell me if you can like them. If something else makes more sense for you, let me know & I'll tell them. They like us, so let's work together.

Latest News from Home

Sorry, Folks. I haven't written an article this month. I got pulled away from the site updates and upgrades by a client and then I got very sick. The client is in a holding pattern till after the holidays, so I'm all yours!

I'll be sick for a few years, so I'll get used to it. Dealing with it will just be time consuming and health insurance will be difficult to find/implement because of it. Been there before & I'll get through.

Meanwhile, I did want to tell you that Princess is doing well. I am taking her in to have the stitches removed from her ear later today. She began trying to scratch over the weekend, meaning the stitches are now itching. She is healing.

For those not aware of the situation, she got a hematoma (her second one) and the ear - normally a very thin membrane - puffed up. It happened a couple of years ago in her left ear, and it just happened in her right ear. The vet drained it and stitched the layers together. That seems to be the protocol for the condition.

Anyway, she is doing very well and is none the worse for having to go to the vet.

Everyone else is doing very well, too. The cooler weather is having a positive effect. We had squirrels on the windowsill during the hot weather, and now they are back in the trees - looking for nuts and seeds to store for winter. The young ones also seem to be mating. Lots of stuff for the cats to watch!

They have been doing well getting along, too! I've been at the bottom of a 5-kitty kitty-pile twice in the last week. All 5 on top of me at bedtime. Beasley is finally getting over his jealousy of the ladies, and Bugs is finally settling down. From left ear to right ear, it's Fluffy, Beasley, Bugs, Queenie and Princess. Kinda nice!

The weather change also reminds me that holidays are coming up! Yep, Hallowe'en is the holiday kickoff for the year's festivities. I'm including some specials you may like.
