Major Overhaul Continues

The Overhaul continues. There's a new logo, and "winking cat" is now on the logo. He has his own page. Look under About Logo to find his story.

There are a lot more photos on the website, and I'm getting more every day. I think we may have a successful Calendar Contest this year! Be sure to send your pic of your cat so that you are entered, too!

As subscribers, I know you have and love cats, so lets get your pictures up there! Send your cat stories in. The email to send your photo is on the website "thank you" page after submitting your story.

New Pages on Rescue

Rescuing animals is a passion of mine, as you know. I got both Mr. Beasley and Miss Princess from rescue.

Right now, I'm "fostering" 3 girls. I've featured 2 of them on Current Foster Kitties and a couple of past fosters are on Past Foster Kitties. The beautiful cats I have now were living in cages for their whole lives! They were rescued early in July and have been with me ever since. I've been socializing them and addressing their individual needs in training and grooming.

Beasley is about over the company, let me tell you! He's so depressed he won't even ask for cuddles... However, he still wants to help me with the website. Princess meanwhile, decided that she would be friends with one of the girls (Queenie, not on the website, all black, needs to be spayed, lovely) and that the other two could just leave her alone. They don't of course, but she has become very insistent in her cuddling. I'm actully heartened by this because she's always been so shy.

Donations for Rescue

These cats all need things that only a real, furrever home will give them, but in the meanwhile, I am providing veterinary care, food, litter and love. The vet care, food and litter are expensive for so many additional cats, so I'm now accepting donations to help with their care. Once they leave, any donations will go to the organizations I work with: Maine Coon Rescue, FurrFriends, Knoxville Animal Rescue, and ForLuvCats, in NC.

I received $100 from the rescue organization when I first got 4 cats. I was able to get vaccinations, feed and provide litter for them. One found a home before she even got home to me, and once she had her vaccinations, she left. However, I still have 2 girls who need to be spayed before they can be adopted and one who is ready for a home. Until they find homes, they will need to be cared for.

So, I am accepting donations in the amounts of $5 and $10 for their care. If you would like to donate more, please contact me and arrangements can be made. Also, if you would like to adopt one of the cats, please let me know. Once a cat is adopted, the photo will be moved to another section on the website - "success stories" or some such. Meanwhile, all the cats in the rescue section are available. You can contact me to adopt any of the cats. The rescue networks will work out the logistics to get the cat to you.

Consolidated Advice & FAQ Section

If you hadn't guessed it, I get a lot of email through this website. So, I'm taking some of the "Frequently Asked Questions" and making up a directory of FAQs. These will link directly to the pages that I'm making up with the answers to those questions. I already have some of that in the Advice area, but Advice is replaced by FAQ on the navigation bar.

eZine Signup Push

It came to my attention that eZines were hard to sign up for. That problem has been fixed. I am also looking for "freebies" to entice folks to sign up. If you already receive this publication, I will send you the link to get the freebies. No use the new kids getting what the old kids didn't! So, you will be getting the goodies, too. There is a new button on navigation to take your friends to the ezine sign up.

There are a few things that didn't work right, or could work better, and they have been fixed. The "tell-a-friend" link now works like it should. I had no idea it wasn't working until someone told me. Some of the buttons from the front page have been removed, since they really didn't do me much good. All the links to products, articles and related websites should open up new windows, so you stay with the website when you are done, there, exactly where you were.

Here is a special for you because you've been such good sports:
Anytime you find yourself at "Entirely Pets" - which is the flea sprays, siphotrol and such, you can enter this special code in the checkout form:
Free Otiderm Ear Cleanser on orders over $55 (Code: AU06EC) and get a free ear cleaner.

That's about it for now. I'll be back to the regular format at the end of the month. I was just SO excited about the changes that I had to share them with you.

Morgen
