There is an emergency situation in Las Vegas. The local shelter had an outbreak of Parvo Virus and is killing all the dogs. To help, all the local no-kill shelters are overflowing with both dogs and cats. They desperately need help. To get more information, read The Bloggy Doggy.

These organizations have been rescuing animals in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. You might find your pet on their pages or you can make a donation. This information has been culled from various sources. While I have seen each of the websites and and they all look legitimate, always be careful before putting credit card information on any website. If you are unsure, please find a mailing address on the website and send a check instead of opening yourself to identify theft. In times of disaster, there are lots of frauds posing as the real thing.

At any time there is a disaster, contact your local Human Society for instructions. Take your pet! No one can guarantee your pet's safety but yourself, so take it with you. Even if the "authorities" say to leave it behind. Find a way to get your pet to safety. Use a carrier and take your pet to a safe place. Once you get to your destination you can find a place to board your pet if you need to.
