A Letter to My Readers About Being a Cat Whisperer
March 17, 2006
Dear Visitor,
I am not writing a book about being am Internet Cat Whisperer. I am one, and freely pass my insigts on to you, my reader.
When I started this website, I didn't know the term "Cat Whisperer." I'd never heard it. I never heard of a book about how to talk to cats. I just always did it. It was one of the gifts I was given by the Universal Creator. I feel blessed to have the gift. I was recently amazed to find such a book on the Internet.
I am not going to ask you to buy a book, although I give you a free one for subscribing to CatLover Magazine. There may be other books I produce as I get more email on the same topic and make the answers available to you through the eBook format. They will always be inexpensive and easy to read, but you won't ever be told to buy the book instead of getting direct help if you email me.
I would like you to buy from the suppliers on my website as a thank you for their belief in me and as a vote of confidence in my abilities. I recommend products I believe in and use myself. In emails, I recommend specific items for specific uses. There are some offerings on the website that I don't use, simply because I don't have the room, but I'm familiar with the suppliers and their quality because of related items that I do use, or the items wouldn't be here.
I'm always looking for good value before I offer something to you. I look for ease of ordering and checkout, shipping, and quality once I receive the item. I'm sure that it will perform as advertised or better. I make sure that it fills the need it is is intended for, and will work for you.
I look for guarantees from the manufacturer or supplier, too. If I get a report from someone that a product didn't work well, I remove it from the website, no questions asked. I go to the supplier and ask them to stop selling it to others, too. I've had that happen with a flea preparation that was tainted. We immediately had the product recalled and money returned to customers. Life is too short to be unhappy and not do anything to change things.
Yes, I'm on the internet to make money. Most people are. But I get more satisfaction from helping people with cats than any amount of money could ever provide. Money has never been that important to me. In itself, money is nothing more than the value we assign to it by the value of the goods we purchase with it.
I am a real person. I have two cats and 3 foster cats. I live a real life, go to work every day and come home to write about cats. I love this part of my life. If it paid me to do it full-time, I would. Only your purchase of products on this site can make that possible. The website needs to pay for itself or it will be taken down. If there is income above that, it goes for the care of my foster cats.
If this site pays it's renewal fees every year, I'm happy. Otherwise, it's just a hobby, but this is supposed to be a business. By your good grace, your belief in me and my advertisers, this thing can pay for itself. By doing that, I will be successful in my passion. If I can say that, I am successful in life. Not a bad trade off, in my opinion.
