Feeding Time Outside

Feeding Time Outside

I have 7 inside that never go outside and are spoiled rotten of course. I feed about 20
strays outside and also have built several shelters behind my house for them. Many have been born in my yard over the years and we've
lived here since 1990.

So far I haven't met a stray that hasn't eventually made up to me so I can pet it. Even those that come and appear to be feral, finally give in and come up to me and rub on me and accept my friendship. I have listened to them as they talk to one another and often try to mimic them and they respond.

I also have a TNR person working with me and since Sept we've gotten 7 spayed/neutered, ear tipped and shots and come spring we work on more. I use carriers as I can handle most of these and found traps are very traumatic to them.

These are friendly strays that will often walk over and sit in my lap and let me pet them. All of my 7 inside were once outside, including one who I found dumped in a flower pot at 2 weeks of age and she is now a yr and a half old and the
sweetest cat in the world.

If more people got their pets spayed/neutered before letting them outside, we could help cut down the unwanted litters.
