insists on sleeping on my chest
by: Anonymous

I don't know if you ever watch the Dog Whisperer on TV, they have some good pointer for both dogs and cats. You are the leader of the pack, not your cat and you have to let him know you are in charge, not him, without being mean.

Another thing that comes to mind, could it be he is jealous? What I mean by that, your attentions are directed to something else besides him. It sounds like he may be craving your affection. When he growls and swears at you, he is saying, look at me, not a computer monitor.

Who's In Charge???
by: Morgen

You gave him the idea he was the boss...

Now, to get him to calm down, put him on the arm of the chair, and hold his shoulders there. Scratch him behind the ears and ignore the growls. Yes, trim claws!

Talk to him. It sounds like he's possibly in pain. Have him checked for arthritis. Maybe add some joint lubricants to his diet.

He's also probably afraid you will leave, too. He's lost 2 of the principle residents in the home. He has fear of being left behind.

Morgen
