Psycho spawn of satan kitty!!

I just adopted an adorable, sweet. lovable cat from my vet. She's a long haired calico named Katie. Well she had all of those qualities, that is until I got her home. I set up a room just for her, so she wouldn't be overwhelmed, put her cat box, food etc.. all in there. I open the crate up, she jumps out and lunges at my face!!!!! She has now been hiding behind a radiator for the past day & a half. She won't eat, drink, go potty- just stays behind the radiator- every time I try to lure her out she lunges at me, I've been bitten like 7-10 times!!! How long will it take her to adjust?

Goodness!!! Don't try to lure her out. She's freaked because of new surroundings, new sounds and smells. She is scared. Try to calm her instead. Just talk to her when you come into the room, and otherwise leave her alone. She will calm down as she becomes accustomed to the sounds and routines around her. Give fresh food and water every day, and check that litter box - she's probably using it when you aren't around.
