Scratching furniture

by Pauline Wren
(Dominican Republic)

My two rescued moggies have a large apartment and large terrace to live in. From the terrace they can survey the world. They hunt lizzards and little frogs which frequent the plants on the terrace. They have various toys which they take no interest in. They have scratching posts, shrubs and lumps of driftwood to scratch which they use, but they are also destroying my sofa and armchair and wicker furniture with their scratching which they seem to do to show how happy they are. They seem to have no interest in going beyond the front door they were in a bad way when they arrived from the outside world and besides I live next to a main road, so I don't want them killed or maimed. They are both neutered and are affectionate, especially the male.

Suggestions, PLEASE!

Try using double-sided tape on the furniture - Morgen
